Nightmare on Elm ST (2010)

Thought it was ok.

Production value is better than the original, mainly because it's been over twenty years since it came out.

Jackie Earle Haley plays Freddy Krueger in this new version. He did a great job, and he's a great actor. But, I like Robert Englund's portrayal of Freddy better.

Not sure why they didn't hire Robert Englund.

One thing they did well, was the backstory of Freddy Krueger.

One bad thing, was that they used 30 something year old's, playing highschoolers.

I liked the movie, but, I was hoping for it to be a little bit better considering it's a remake of such an iconic movie.

I am happy for Jackie Earle in the sense that he got a great gig. He had more roles back in the 1970's when he was a teen. Good to see him working again.

James Dean

I buy movies sometimes, and don't watch them right away. I had seen one of his movies years ago, but, it didn't leave much of an impression of me as a young man. Being older, I can see why James Dean was such a big celebrity, and is still a major movie icon after his untimely death decades ago.

The movie I bought, and watched recently was, "Rebel Without a Cause". I've got it on pause in my player, and will finish it later.

It's his look, acting ability, and character that is a whole package for a memorable image.

In the story, he's a troubled teen. And, that's how he can relate to the masses. Everyone seems to have a rough adolescence, what ever backround you come from.

One of my all time favorite movies, "The Lost Boys", took a scene from Dean's movie. If you get a chance to see both films, you'll see what I mean.
